Drain Fields
Drain fields are a critical part of any well-functioning septic system, which is essentially a backyard sewage treatment plant designed to treat the waste produced by the occupants of a home or business. When it comes to septic systems the septic drain field (leach field) is one of the most expensive aspects and the one that goes unnoticed the most until it is causing problems.
How do you know if the drain field is not working properly?
You can notice you have a failing drain field when you have foul odor in the yard, the plumbing backs up, and the ground is wet or mushy over the drain field area.
How does the drain field function?
A drain field is designed with a trenched bed designed with Arc 24 chambers that are laid into the trenched bed allowing the wastewater to drain through the side gills of the chambers. As the water is absorbed bacteria is filtered out by the soil.

How to prevent a drain field failure?
Regular septic system maintenance is crucial to maintain the longevity of the system by pumping out all the solid of the tank every 2-3 years.
